Dukhan is the centre of Qatar’s onshore oil industry and at the beginning of the 20th century had the only aircraft landing strip in the country. The security-gated complex owned by Qatar Petroleum (not open to the general public) consists of both residential and production areas and includes the first oil well drilled in Qatar, in 1938. Fossilized shark teeth can be found in some of the shale hills and there is a popular beach accessible to all. At the gates to Dukhan township, turn left and follow the coast road for 9 km until reaching Dukhan Water Sports. The tarmac road ends here, but to the south, you will find plenty of places to stop. An inland sea to the south of Qatar, Khor Al Adaid shares a side with Saudi Arabia and has a shore in both countries. Four-wheel-drive vehicles are necessary and only experienced drivers should attempt the journey. Local tour operators also organise day trips and overnight camps to the area.

The road to the Ras Abrouq beach (70km from Doha) passes by a wild deer reserve and through what looks like a deserted village but was actually built as a film set. The drive to Ras Abrouq affords views of a sweeping half-moon bay, flanked by rocky outcrops.

Also known as 42km beach or the French beach – Maroona is a small beach 80km north of Doha. It’s a good place to enjoy the water but the sand is too fine and not quite suitable for pitching tents.This beach affords an unusual sight of eroded hills meeting the water’s edge. The area has a fine sandy bay with coves that make good picnic spots.

While Qatar is not as strict as Saudi Arabia when it comes to women’s attire, it still is an Islamic country and the sensibilities are quite different from those in the West. Expat women should be respectful of the dress code and keep their knees and shoulders covered and not wear anything too tight or revealing.  The dress code becomes much more important during Ramadan and is enforced by special ‘clothes’ police who ensure ladies are covered appropriately.

Spend the day at Qatar's Sealine Beach Resort near the Arabian Sea. Go for a wild sand-dune ride, join a sports game at Qatar Ventures Camp, enjoy the views of the Qatar Maldives, and sit around a nighttime bonfire before camping out under the stars.

 Makan siang bersama di hari jumat dengan teman teman seperantauan dari tano batak, rap mekkel, suasana yang menyenangkan.

 Disini terlihat teman teman saya R. Parapat, Tulang nainggolan, Agnes, Lae Ringo dan inang boru sibarani dan si Ucok waktu makan di Beirouth, Doha, aktivitas kita di waktu luang, mengisi waktu waktu yang kosong, sungguh menyenangkan dan sangat dekat persaudaraan di kala kita jauh dari tanah kelahiran kita, Gbu all.

Bercengkerama waktu selesai makan, dan membuat rencana berikutnya ketemuan di mana.

Panorama indah kalau kita melihat dari dataran rendahnya, disana terhampar hutan luas yang belum pernah di lalui oleh orang.

Kegiatan dan Perjalanan selama menghilang sepanjang tahun 2013

Bertemu dan minum bersama Akbar Tanjung dan keluarganya saat mengantar putrinya mau berangkat ke US, tak di sangka satu pesawat sama anaknya sampai di Dubai.
Minum kopi dan green tea di starbuck Terminal II D soekarno hatta, setelah immigration check.

Dinner party untuk Sdr. Ridwan abidin setelah resign dan mau berangkat ke Australia, tepatnya di Gorgon LNG, semoga di beri keberhasilan buat beliau dan di mudahkan segala urusannya, sampai ketemu di dunia lain, LNG lain, dan suasana yang lain di kemudian hari.

 Masih seputaran di Dinner party untuk saudara Ridwan Abidin, kelihatan disini, Sdr. Kamli, Miki Anderson, Tanjung, dan Fauzi amien.

Saat merokok di smoking shelter Dubai international airport bertemu dengan artis satu ini, Reny Djayusman, waktu mereka pulang dari London dalam rangka temu "opera nasional" dan transit di dubai airport.

 Tugu yang sudah selesai, walaupun pestanya tidak ikut karena keadaan, saya masih bisa melihat hasil kerja keras selama ini, semoga arwah nenek moyang kami tenang di alamnya sekarang ini. Dan kami para penerusnya di berkati di manapun kami berada.

Masih seputaran soal Tugu gomparan Raja Lobi Tanjung di Lobuhole, Tobasa.

Kondisi Gereja HKBP lobuhole, masih ada tugas yang belum selesai disini yaitu pengecatan, dan pemindahan palas-palas ke luar bangunan, semoga bisa tercapai di 2013 ini.

Potret seorang Sintua HKBP yang pensiun, Op. Frans Yudi di lobuhole telah pensiun dari hasittuaonnya selama lebih dari 33 tahun mengabdi di HKBP lobuhole.
Moment yang sangat mengharukan di hari minggu tanggal 31 Maret 2013, dia minta maaf kepada semua jemaat, keluarga dan kami satu persatu, Panjang umurlah, dan doakan kami semua sukses di hari hari yang kami lalui.

 Sarapan pagi rame rame di kampung merupakan hal yang sangat mengesankan dimana semua menikmatinya walaupun makanan adalah seadanya..saya merindukan hal hal ini, semoga ke depan dengan apa yang saya miliki sekarang tidak ada lagi yang memandang mereka rendah dan tidak ada yang memandang mereka terhina, semua ku bayar dengan mahal dan tidak akan ada satupun di antara kita yang bisa berbuat seperti ini kepada keluarga besar kita yang ada di kampung, saya bersyukur dapat melakukannya.
